401(k) Retirement Plan
With a 401(k) Retirement Plan, you can save money for your retirement directly through payroll deductions. You can elect either tax-free or Roth contributions. With tax-free contributions, don’t pay federal or state income taxes on your savings or investment earnings until you withdraw the money at retirement. With Roth contributions, you pay federal and state income taxes on your savings now, but the earnings are tax free when you withdraw the money at retirement.
Employees are eligible the first of the month following 30 days of employment and must be 21 years of age or older to enroll in the 401(k) plan. You are able to make changes to your 401(k) plan any time after you have met your eligibility requirement.
How do I enroll?
Universal Weather and Aviation employees will be automatically enrolled at a 3% pre-tax contribution upon their eligibility date unless you opt out. To enroll at a different amount or to opt out, visit www.netbenefits.com to make that election.
What are the details?
You may choose to contribute to the 401(k) with pre-or post-tax deductions. Universal Weather & Aviation will match up to 75% of the first 6% of your pay. You are 100% vested in the employer matching contributions after 3 years of service, however you are always 100% vested in your own contributions.
